Firm History

Stratton, Hogg & Maddox was founded in 1898 by P.B. Stratton. For over 100 years the attorneys for the firm have been successfully resolving individual and small business problems in the area of real estate and mineral law, banking and commercial law, insurance defense, products liability, probate, estate planning and employment law.

Our firm is presently composed of David and Dan Stratton, the grandsons of P.B. Stratton and sons of Henry D. Stratton, who led the firm from 1950 until his death in 1989. The third partner is Steve Hogg, who is the son of former Letcher County Circuit Judge, F. Byrd Hogg.

Our attorneys are all experienced litigators. Our experience provides us the expertise to resolve your problems in an efficient, cost effective manner. We strive hard to help you understand all the issues you face and work in an orderly manner toward resolving each of those problems.
