Dan's practice focus is on estates, estate planning, trusts, small business needs, employment law and general litigation.

Dan earned his Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1975 and his Juris Doctorate Degree from the Chase College of Law in 1978.

He is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, US Court of Appeals - 6th Circuit and US District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

In addition to his legal career, he had a career in banking, in which he served as General Counsel and the President of the Citizens Bank of Pikeville. He's a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Graduate School of Banking.

He has been active in his profession serving as a Director of Lawyer's Mutual Insurance Company of Kentucky from 1986-1993; 1999-present. He has also served as President of the Pike County Bar Association, 1980-1981; Chairman of the Kentucky Young Lawyers Section, 1985-1986; and Kentucky Board of Governors, 1985-1986; Charter Life Member of the Kentucky Bar Foundation and a Director,1985-1991 and President, 1989-1990.

Dan has been active in the community serving as a past Director and President of Pike County Chamber of Commerce; Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and Director for Pikeville Methodist Hospital. He currently serves as a Trustee for Pikeville College, and as a Director of the Pikeville High School Alumni Foundation. He has also been active in Scouting and Little League Baseball.
